Andrea Abel is the Executive Director of Farmshare in Austin, Texas. Farmshare’s mission is to grow a healthy, just and equitable local food system by increasing community food access and cultivating new farmers.
Rev. Dr. Heber Brown is the Executive Director, Black Church Food Security Network. Rev. Dr. Brown is a catalyst for personal transformation and social change and social change for more than twenty-five years. He is author of the forthcoming book, Nothing More Sacred: Radical Stories Of Black Church Faith, Food and Freedom.
Edwin Marty is the Food Policy Manager, City of Austin’s Office of Climate Action and Resilience, in Austin, Texas. His work focuses on support for community food production, institutional food purchasing, and improving access to healthy affordable food.
Wednesday, September 9th
Rev. Dr. Starsky Wilson, President and CEO, Children’s Defense Fund (CDF). Rev. Dr. Wilson is an activist and a philanthropist who champions child well-being and racial justice. A key area of focus for CDF is Children’s Health and Healing.
Thursday, September 10th
Leadership from Heart of the Rockies Christian Church in Ft. Collins, Colorado. Cody Robertson, Senior Minister, Heart of the Rockies Christian Church will join lay leaders Sue Anderson and Michael Whitley to share how they brought to life a state-of-the-art affordable housing development born out of a vision to address housing insecurity in their community.
