In late September 2022, Hurricane Fiona made landfall in Puerto Rico, destroying homes, buildings, and systems still recovering from Hurricanes Irma and Maria five years earlier. Week of Compassion is partnering with Iglesia Cristiana Discípulos de Cristo en Puerto Rico, Techos Pa’ Mi Gente, and Presbyterian Disaster Assistance to receive volunteers to continue supporting the recovery efforts following hurricanes Maria, Irma, and Fiona on the island.
Teams will work in the San Juan metro area on roof repairs, as well as some other home repairs; teams may also work at the operations center, supporting the community garden or other resilience efforts.
