The Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. championed the powerful vision of the Beloved Community—a practical, achievable ideal where peace, happiness, safety, and justice are shared by all.
Conflict still exists in the Beloved Community, but it is resolved through non-violence and without hostility or resentment.
At the heart of Dr. King’s vision of the Beloved Community is Agape—unconditional love for all—which motivates us to work toward ending prejudice, poverty, hunger, violence, and all other injustices in humanity.
So, what does this mean for Northway? For us, the Beloved Community is:

- Multiracial
- Service-Driven
- Open to All
